Activity:  Starch to Sugar

Question: What do enzymes do?

Vocabulary: Enzymes, starch, sugar, amylase, carbohydrates

Materials: Soda cracker


Procedures: 

  • 1. Chew a soda cracker well and hold it in your mouth for 5 minutes.

  • 2. Record what you taste as you begin chewing.

  • 3. Record what you taste after 5 minutes.
