Activity:  Variables

Question: What variables affect motion?

Materials:
styrofoam airplane kit

Procedure:

• 1.  Put together the Styrofoam airplane.
• 2.  Fly your plane three times and measure the distance it flew.
• 3.  Predict what will happen if you add weight to the nose of the plane.
• 4.  Add 1 small paper clip to your plane's nose.
• 5.  Fly your plane again three times and measure the distance it flew.
• 6.  Record your results and conclusion.
