Magnetism And Electricity
NC Standard:

Activity: Sounds On!
Question: What is an electric circuit?
Vocabulary: Electric circuit, energy source, eneregy conductor, energy receiver
Materials: Batteries, wire, electric buzzer
Background: The buzzer sounds up when electricity flows through it. Electricity can only flow if it has a complete path, called a circuit. When the wire runs from the top of the battery to the buzzer and from the buzzer back to the bottom of the battery you will complete a circuit and the buzzer will sound.
Procedures: Give students a battery, some wire and a buzzer and ask them to make the buzzer sound.
Evaluation: Draw a picture of the electric circuit. Identify the energy source, conductor and receiver.
